Reasons to Forgive

October 15, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Reading today:
Matthew 18:21-35
The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

21Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[f]

23″Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents[g] was brought to him. 25Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.

26″The servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.

28″But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii.[h] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.

29″His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.’

30″But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened.

32″Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

35″This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart.”

Fotnotes:
[f] Matthew 18:22 Or seventy times seven
[g] Matthew 18:24 That is, millions of dollars
[h] Matthew 18:28 That is, a few dollars

Gold verse today:
Matthew 6:12
12Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.

In a courtroom, a young man sitting in the dock. He is charged with murdering their peers. Before the judge read the decision, he asked his father children who become victims, “this young man found guilty of killing your son. According to what punishment you deserve for him? “The old man replied,” Judge, my child only has died. Any penalty will not restore life. I really loved, and now do not have anyone to my loved ones. Please send the accused to my house, to be my son. ”

What is our reaction to people who have hurt us? Wanted to punish him? Trying to make him feel the pain we feel, even if you can suffer more; let me know the taste? Forgiveness is not the case as easy as turning the palm of the hand. However, that’s what God wants us to do (verse 22). Then, how to implement God’s will in our limitations?

First, realize that like the debt, we’d have a lot of debt to God, than anyone else to us. Our sins are so many, by the love of Christ paid in full on the cross. So, if our debt much for the amount already paid in full Lord, why do we still continue to demand other people “pay” its debt to us (verse 33)? Second, realize that holding grudges and hatred in the heart will only cause lack welfare. Only increase the weight. By forgiving we are actually doing good to yourself.

One’s strength lies when he could forgive those who hurt

Establish YOUR OWN STANDARDS

October 10, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Gratitude is a noble attitude. And the more grateful that God allowed to live in higher quality, is right.

So let us seek the highest achievement of the rights of our birth.

You must set the standard for quality that you can receive in your career and your personal life.

If not, you will often be required to accept what it is.

Accept what is not representing the attitude of submission to God.

Seek the achievement of the best, is the attitude of people are grateful for anything that already exists in itself, to achieve the best for himself, his family, and for the maximum possible others.

You should demand the best achievement of your job, if not the same demands set by others to you.

And maybe, no one is more wasted lives, than he is required to accept what is, when the better is still possible for him.

We have to use more of our time for our happy, than to that keep us from the good and happiness.

My Lord

October 6, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Reading today:
Luke 6:46-49
The Wise and Foolish Builders
46″Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?
47I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice.
48He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.
49But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

Gold verse today:
Luke 6:46
46″Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

We often hear the term My Lord in the films on the theme of the kingdom. Usually the title was addressed to a king, queen, prince or queen. The term is not just showing respect, but also show who the master and who the servant. And as a consequence of that title, then the slave must be willing to respect and obey all the commandments of the lord.

In the Bible, called Lord also used as a title to God. It means the same, that is pointing to the omnipotence of God. God is the Lord and we are calling is the servant. The consequence is the same, ie, we as servants must have the willingness to do all His commandments. At the time of Jesus, apparently there are people who claim to be disciples of God and called Jesus as “God”. However, Jesus rebuked them, “Why did you call me Lord when you did not do my commandments?” Reprimand was made because these people claim to be disciples of God, but never learned the word of God. They called out the name of God, but never obey the commandments and teachings of God.

In prayer, we often use the phrase, “Yes, Lord”, without knowing the meaning and consequences of these titles. There are good questions ask in Jesus’ day the word of God is the subject of our contemplation. When we greeted him, Lord, did we act as a servant?

AN ASSIGNMENT the servant is keep his master ORDER

Fatigue

October 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Reading today:
Genesis 18:13-23
13 Then the LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the LORD I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son.”

15 Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.”
But he said, “Yes, you did laugh.”

Abraham Pleads for Sodom

16 When the men got up to leave, they looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way. 17 Then the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? 18 Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him. 19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”

20 Then the LORD said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous 21 that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.”

22 The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the LORD. [e] 23 Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked?

Footnotes:
# Genesis 18:22 Masoretic Text; an ancient Hebrew scribal tradition but the LORD remained standing before Abraham

Gold verse today:
Genesis 18: 17,18
17 Then the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? 18 Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.

You are tired, but the task is still piling up? Many products now available beverages which is believed to provide extra energy. Caffeine in it spur the mind becomes more active and vibrant. However, a strong drug that actually did not drive tired. He just put it off! Your body can not be forced to work outside the limits. Fatigue is a sign that the body had reached the peak load. All you need is rest.

When Jethro visited Moses, he saw his daughter was exhausted. Moses heard throughout the day and settle the whole race alone. One by one. Imagine: one person to serve hundreds of thousands, even millions of people! Moses’ lack of time to rest. By forcing yourself to work when the body was tired, productivity would decline. The people could not properly served. Thus, Jethro suggested that Moses established a work team. By learning to trust others and to divide the tasks, Moses did not need to be alone to work until the out of bounds. Jethro sure, God never gave the task to someone outside its capacity.

People who worked furiously with no known resting often considered to be diligent and dedicated. This is wrong. Refusing to rest it is not wise. Did not appreciate how God designed our bodies. How often do quality work or even be slipped into labile emotions when we are tired. Then, we are so quick to anger! If your workload excessive, reduce or ask someone else to do it. Do not push yourself!

WORK OUTSIDE THE PERFORMANCE LIMITS DEFINITELY IS NOT GOD’S WILL
